In one arrangement, the rollers are carried by two arms 19, 20 (Fig. 1, in plan) which are pivotally supported at 25 to a guide frame 10 The ends of the arms remote from the rollers have L-shaped plates 52 attached to them, and are biased apart by a hydraulic unit 58. After initial pressurization of the hydraulic unit, to provide a desired biasing force for the rollers, the force is maintained constant by a compressedgas container 59. (54) INPUT ROLLER WIRING OF THE WORKING CELL OF A ROLLING MILL Kami adjusting screws 11. The battery 12 maintains the MS2 by the hydraulic cylinder 10 in the system at a constant pressure throughout the entire range of expected relative lateral movements of the roller holders. The constant force from the hydraulic cylinder is transmitted to the rollers 3 through the angular bars 5. and the roller holders 2. Since the same pressure is created in both areas of the hydraulic cylinder, the same forces are always applied to both sides of the workpiece from the roller side. If, for any reason, the alignment of the rollers relative to the roll of the mill rolls is disturbed, then the forces applied by the rollers 1, s to the workpiece, will be different. In this case, both rollers will begin to shift until the forces applied by them to the workpiece are equalized. This will obviously happen at that moment when the rollers and the workpiece will again be located on the axis of the roll of rolling mills.
